- 1981Born in Saitama, Japan.
- Early 2000sGained entry to Tatsuya Nakadai's Mumeijuku — an acceptance rate of roughly 1 in 300 — and trained rigorously as a stage actor.
- 2003Professional stage debut in Mori wa Ikiteiru at Le Théâtre Ginza and other venues.
- 2010Appeared in Takashi Miike's Thirteen Assassins and Takashi Yamazaki's Space Battleship Yamato, expanding his film career.
- 2013Lead role in Takashi Miike's Blue Planet Brothers (Earthly Brothers). Walked the red carpet at the Rome International Film Festival. Also appeared in Miike's Shield of Straw.Official Selection — Rome International Film Festival
- 2021Founded LIB POSSE entertainment LLC. Established an independent production model as actor, director, and producer.
- 2022Produced and starred in the stage play Haikyo ni Kou, based on the Naoki Prize-winning novel by Jō Sasaki. Performed in Sapporo and Tokyo.
